Abstract
Golpayegan and the Salas region, including Khansar, Golpayegan, and Khomein, experienced a very difficult period in terms of insecurity in the contemporary era. Armed groups and tribes that were present around this region frequently looted and plundered the region. This article has attempted to show, based on documents, who the insecurity factors in this region were and to what extent the people of the region were harmed by their attacks and looting. What did the law enforcement and government officials do to establish security there and how effective were their activities. Documents show that this insecurity intensified in two periods before and after the rule of Reza Shah. Non-governmental organizations such as the Merchants' Union repeatedly voiced their protest against insecurity to the authorities in Tehran, especially the members of the parliament. The present article is based on library studies and documents received from the National Archives and Library Organization and also from the treasury of the National Assembly's Document Center.
